Tempat Melawat di Vietnam

Pengenalan:
Setelah tamat peperangan pada 1975 yang melarat selama hampir 20 tahun, rakyat Vietnam bangkit bersatu untuk membina penghidupan yang baru. Negara Indochina ini yang pada asalnya penumpukan fokus ekonomi kepada bidang pertanian, kini semakin terkenal sebagai destinasi pelancongan yang utama di Asia Tenggara. Pada tahun 2012, lebih daripada 6 juta pelancong dari serata dunia datang melawat Vietnam, terutamanya ke Hanoi dan Bandar Ho Chi Minh.  
Bandar Ho Chi Minh, yang juga pernah dikenali sebagai Saigon, semakin mendapat tempat di hati pelancong dari Malaysia, dan juga dari seluruh pelusuk dunia.  Kota terbesar di Vietnam ini mempunyai penduduk seramai lebih 9 juta orang, menjadikannya kota bertaraf metropolitan. Bandar Ho Chi Minh bukan sahaja bertindak sebagai hab pelancongan dan sejarah di Vietnam, malahan juga menjadi pusat perkembangan sains, teknologi dan industri negara tersebut.
Perkara yang paling istimewa dan ikonik di Bandar Ho Chi Minh ialah jumlah penunggang motosikal yang “berkeliaran” di sekitar kota tersebut. Tidak hairanlah tempat ini juga disebut-sebut sebagai ‘Bandar Motosikal’. Permandangan motosikal-motosikal yang bergerak bertali-arus menusuri jalanraya yang bersimpang-siur di sana sememangnya menarik dan juga sedikit menakutkan. Biarpun sesetengah persimpangan jalan tidak mempunyai lampu isyarat, tetapi kemalangan amat jarang berlaku. Mungkin penunggang-penunggang motosikal di sana sudah mahir dengan keadaan seperti itu lalu sentiasa lebih berhati-hati.
Ben Thanh Market merupakan salah satu tujuan utama para pelancong apabila berada di sana. Terdapat bermacam-macam produk pakaian, kain sutera, beg, kasut, seni kraftangan, lukisan dan makanan segar dijual di pasar ini. Oleh kerana sudah acap kali menerima kunjungan daripada pelancong Malaysia, penjaja di Ben Thanh Market yang rata-ratanya kaum wanita boleh berbahasa melayu yang ringkas.  Berbelanja di sana memang seronok kerana segalanya dijual pada harga yang sangat murah, dan harga barangan boleh ditawar-menawar.
Terowong Cu Chi, yang terletak kira-kira 70km dari pusat bandar, adalah satu lagi destinasi pelancongan yang wajib dikunjungi di Saigon. Ianya merupakan terowong bawah tanah yang panjangnya mencecah 200km. Terowong ini dibina oleh pasukan pengganas komunis sebagai tempat perlindungan dan tempat menerima maklumat risikan ketika zaman perang dahulu. Pelawat diberi peluang untuk merasai sendiri pengalaman berada di dalam terowong gelap dan sempit ini dengan merangkak untuk masuk ke dalamnya. Pelawat juga dapat melihat gambaran sebenar bagaimana penduduk vietnam pada beberapa dekat yang lalu hidup di dalam situasi yang sengsara dan menakutkan.
